About Us
BOYDRIVE is a wide-eyed alt-pop band split between Tampa, Florida, and Nashville, Tennessee. The band is made up of (from right to left) Jake Ferguson (vocals and guitar), Siah Kent (vocals and guitar), Joseph Linsner (bass and keys), and Bobby Travers (drums). The founding members of BOYDRIVE, Siah and Jake, met in high school choir class, where their mutual affinity for music sparked a connection. Years down the road, the boys would reconnect, purely out of their love for songwriting. Demo after demo after demo, they’d discover a sound together that they both had been chasing independently for years. This cul-de-sac rock was the kind of music they’d always wanted to make.
In the summer of 2023, BOYDRIVE released their first single, aptly titled “Better Together.” Over the next 18 months, the band would release 18 songs in an effort to push past the discomfort of sharing music. To their surprise, people were listening. They played shows, and people showed up. Somehow, it was working. The boys believe, wholeheartedly, that ‘somehow’ was the result of a collective effort of their closest friends, who brought the creative vision to life and truly helped pave the way for what the project is today.
Where are they now
BOYDRIVE are set to release their debut album, BOY, in Fall 2026. BOY is a message to your inner child. It’s about reconnecting with the purest, freest parts of yourself; it’s a return to that ability we once had, to dream without fear and love without condition - before life's difficulties and hardships taught us any differently. It’s being a kid again, reigniting the natural delusion that once had you believing anything was possible.
Each song is meant to be a snapshot of that feeling, like finding an old dusty photo of little ‘you’ and remembering something you forgot you once felt. For the band, it’s boyhood. Nostalgia. Simpler times. Full of wonder. Full of hope.
The band complements each other; sonically, melodically, rhythmically, and creatively - all bringing big BOY energy to the mix. Each member has that BOY thing, BOY heart, and BOY drive unequivocally, and the group has never been better than it is today. It’s not aboutchasing attention, and it’s definitely not about the money. It’s about building something honest, of substance, that lasts and inspires others to do the same.
What’s next
During the rollout of BOY, the band will play shows in both Nashville and Tampa, further fostering a community around the music that BOYDRIVE creates. Last year, they launched a Kickstarter to help fund their debut album. They were overwhelmed with the support they received. The project brought in more funding than what was asked for (144% funded). The love and generosity of others are the reason this album can be released this fall, and this massive gift doesn’t go unappreciated.
This album is a reflection on the innocence of beginnings, a celebration of the journey so far, remembering what it feels liketo go for your dreams, and, ultimately, an aim to“stay young for the long run.”
Buckle up buttercup + COME ON THE JOURNEY, if you dare ;)
